The Special American Business
Internship Training (SABIT) Oil
Pipelines Program is designed
to train 18 mid- to senior-level
executives from the Eurasian
energy transportation sector.
These delegates, screened and
selected by the U.S. Department
of Commerce, represent the upper
echelon of oil transportation
managers and engineers from Eurasia,
where the industry is currently
undergoing a period of transition
and extraordinary growth. This
program will introduce participants
to the status and trends of the
U.S. oil transportation industry
and current themes in oil pipeline
safety, construction, and maintenance.
The
program’s primary objective
is to provide Eurasian participants
with a comprehensive understanding
of the oil transportation infrastructure
in the United States through
training seminars and site visits
to U.S. pipeline engineering
and design firms, equipment manufacturers,
and crude and product pipeline
operators. After completion of
the program, these high-level
managers and engineers will be
able to implement change and
improvements in their organizations
and transportation networks and
be better prepared to work successfully
with U.S. partners.
This is a unique opportunity for U.S. companies to provide industry insight and training while showcasing their products and services to their Eurasian counterparts. By hosting this SABIT Group, U.S. companies will build relationships with leaders of the oil transportation sector in Eurasia. Through these valuable contacts host companies can explore commercial opportunities and partnerships in the region.

This
program will begin January 15th
in Washington, D.C. with an orientation
and visits to relevant government
agencies and associations in
the National Capital Area. In
addition, the delegation will
be trained in business planning
and cross-cultural communication
techniques. During the remaining
three weeks the Group will travel to New Orleans, Houston, and Tulsa for detailed
discussions, brief trainings,
and site visits with pipeline
service providers and major oil
transportation companies, with
themes based on project management
and finance, new technologies
and equipment, and regulations,
safety and security.
SABIT is currently looking
for U.S. hosts to provide training
for a few hours or for an entire
day at their facilities. Training
will cover the following topics
that are relevant to the interests
indicated by the delegates, and
represent some of the current
challenges they face within their
companies:
Pipeline Construction and Maintenance
Project and Asset Management
Engineering and Design
New Technologies
SCADA, GIS
Pipeline Reliability and Integrity
Regulations and Tariffs
Risk Management and Safety/Security
Issues
Field Services
Storage and Tanks
Be
sure to download

needs.
SABIT
will cover the majority of program
costs for all delegates, including
round-trip airfare to the United
States, all U.S. domestic air
travel, housing, insurance,
per diem for meals and incidentals,
and interpreters to travel with
the group. In turn, U.S. host
companies and organizations
are asked to provide industry
expertise in any topics pertaining
to this particular program.
